The Trip Out West Begins

We left for our summer 2017 road trip on Thursday July 20th with a 3hr drive to Riding Mountain National Park.  Of course the three hour trip turned out to be closer to 5, as we had to turn around and head home before leaving Winnipeg as some stuff was left behind, and then we picked up some pizza to enjoy in the car as our lunch.  Never the less we made it to Riding Mountain National Park and a beautiful campsite

Some photos from the campsite and the roasting of golden brown marshmellows

The main campground in Riding Mountain National Park is next to the town of Wasagaming, which made it a nice easy walk along the lake into town.

Here are a few pictures from our walk the first day, including a discovery of a home for the three little pigs.
Testing out the water, could a swim happen in the future?

Enjoying the views

I'm the queen of the castle

Now who's kind of the castle?
