I won't try to talk about everything that has happened over the past 3 years, but I will highlight a few of both the good and bad:
The good.
- My mom planned, and started renovations on the cottage. I am staying up at the cottage over the next two days as I am attending Riding the Wave 2017 in Gimli.
A view of the main beach from in front of the library
The cottage on May 11th, 2017
My supper, pickerel from Beach Boy
- We moved, I will have to get photos of our new house up onto here (we moved in August 2014). We now live next to Grandma and Grandpa and it is amazing
- Evelia is in grade 1, yes its totally crazy. She is involved with swimming (level 3) and gymkids
- Evelia has taken up skiing, both cross country and downhill. We have made it out to Panorama twice
- Kathy is on her third contract at Churchill high school. She had two contracts last year, the first for 3 months, the second for 2 months. Both were full-time and made us realize that part-time work is so much better. This year she is working 20% (every wednesday) with Carrie. Its perfect
- We visited Disney Land last August and had an amazing time. I'll try to get some photos up on here from the trip as well
The bad
Granny passed away just over 2 years ago from brain cancer; May 1st 2015. She showed her first symptoms in November of 2014 when she experienced a small seizure. She had a second seizure in December and spent almost two weeks living with us (Christmas morning with my mom was super special). The cancer diagnosis was made in the end of January, and she went in for surgery in the middle of February. What was suppose to be maybe a 1 or 2 day stay in the hospital turned into almost 2 weeks. She came home to our place on February 26th and returned to the Hospital on Sunday May 1st, never to come home again. The brain cancer grew at an explosive rate, and my mom passed away two months later. She will be forever missed.
Bev and Blane have sold the cottage. They sold the cottage to their next door neighbours at the late, the Baxters. The official transition happens in just a few weeks on June 1st. Evelia and Kathy are spending this Friday and Saturday up at the cottage.
